I was in charge in simulating and implementing the destruction for one of our main mission "The Shipwreck", where the environment collapses in front of the player.
The simulations were done in Houdini and exported and integrated as VAT simulations, this helps us in use the GPU as much as we can and offset some CPU costs that are associated with traditional animation workflows.
